Our roots - short history
The current position of the Institute is the effect of many years of active scientific work and research of statisticians, economists and demographers in the interwar- and post-war periods. They were mostly professors co-operating with the Central Statistical Office and the Polish Research Institute for Population Issues (Studies) in the years 1931-1939. The most influencing professors were: Ludwik Krzywicki, Marcin Kasprzak, Stefan Szulc, Jerzy Spława - Neyman, Marian Falski, Samuel Fogelson, Edward Rosset, Edward Sztrum de Sztrem, Oskar Lange.
