(“KES Studies and Works”) pursues an editorial policy based on the
principles which have been stipulated by COPE Committee on Publication Ethics (“Guidelines
on good publication practice”)
Editorial Policy Rules
- The editorial policy of the Quarterly Journal remains
independent of any commercial influence.
- It is based on the ethical assumptions which cover
an entire publishing process.
- The ultimate goal of the Editorial Board is to
provide the readers and the general public with an intellectual product of the
highest quality and merit in terms of knowledge related to the discussed issues.
- The procedure of approving articles for publication
adopted by the Editorial Board is transparent and understandable for potential
authors.
- The essential
guidelines for the authors interested in the publication of an article in the Quarterly
Journal are available on the website.
- The articles which are
accepted for further stages of the publishing procedure are consistent with the
profile of the journal, and they have a
potential value for the recipients of the journal due to their strong
foundation related to objectified knowledge, diversified and valuable sources as
well as references to the current state of advancement of a given scientific
field.
- Attention is paid to
the observance of appropriate rules by the authors regarding the credibility of
the sources they cite, the use of quotations and borrowings.
- The Editorial Board apply
an appropriate policy against potential threats such as plagiarisms and other
kinds of abuse.
- The author makes a statement declaring that the article
submitted for publication is an original and independent work, and it does not
infringe or violate the rights of third parties. The quotations, borrowings,
tables and comments are supplied with appropriate footnotes. The phenomena such
as “ghostwriting” or “guest authorship” are eliminated.
- The Editorial Board makes sure that the articles are prepared and
developed at an appropriate level in terms of the clarity and readability of
the message.
- The articles are provided with abstracts, keywords
and translations.
- Any conflicts of
interest between members of the Editorial Board, authors and reviewers are
eliminated.
- The Editorial Board ensures
the confidentiality and security of the personal data of the authors and all entities
collaborating with the Quarterly Journal.
Reviewing principles
- The reviewing principles
and procedures are clearly defined in a separate place on the website.
2. The Editorial Board approves the articles for
publication after considering their compliance with the profile of the
Quarterly Journal as well as the requirements contained in the Information for
the Authors.
3. The Editorial Board
accepts only original articles, i.e. those which
were not submitted or published in any scientific publication.
4. The author of the
paper is obliged to sign an appropriate statement declaring the originality of
the work.
5. The Editorial Board
submits the text presented by the author to preliminary evaluation in order to
decide whether it is compliant with the profile of the Quarterly Journal as
well as the requirements contained in the Information for the Authors.
6. External review is
carried out by two reviewers in a “double-blind review process” system, i.e.
after removing the information related to the author’s identity. A review form
is used.
7. The list of reviewers is published.
8. The review is
presented to the author (he does not know the identities of the reviewers). The
author is obliged to respond to the comments provided.
Editorial work
1. The members of the Editorial Collegium [Editorial
Committee] are
members of academic staff specialising in different fields of public policy as a
knowledge discipline.
2.
Members of the Editorial Board observe high
ethical and intellectual standards. They are free from any commercial influence
or motivations.
3.
The editors become acquainted with the articles which
are sent, and they are making decisions
based on their best knowledge, being guided by impartiality, objectivity and
the willingness to contribute to the publication of high-quality materials.
4. They accept articles which meet the most important professional criteria, including the innovative
and original theses, extensive and reliable sources.
5. The Editorial Board looks for the best authors and
reviewers; they adapt the articles to meet the needs of the readership, they
respond to the recipients’ needs and expectations with regard to the specific
academic issues.
6. The Editorial Board includes critical comments
concerning published articles. They initiate discussions concerning the
presented articles.
7. In the case of any errors contained in the article, appropriate corrections and
explanations are presented.
8.
The Editorial Board protects personal data.
THE REGULATIONS OF THE QUARTERLY
JOURNAL OF THE COLLEGIUM OF SOCIO-ECONOMICS “KES STUDIES AND WORKS” (KWARTALNIK
KOLEGIUM EKONOMICZNO-SPOŁECZNEGO (KES) “STUDIA I PRACE")
Acting on the basis of § 4 and 5 of the
resolution of the Board of the Collegium of
Socio-Economics of Warsaw School of Economics no. 215/2010 of 28 January 2010,
the Board of the Collegium of Socio-Economics adopts the Regulations of the
Quarterly Journal of the Collegium of Socio-Economics “KES Studies and Works” (Kwartalnik Kolegium Ekonomiczno-Społecznego (KES) “Studia
i Prace”).
§1
The Editorial Committee of the Quarterly Journal of the Collegium of
Socio-Economics “KES Studies and Works” (KES “Studia i Prace”), hereinafter referred to as the Editorial Committee, accepts
papers related to the issues in the field of economics and social sciences, and
in particular the phenomena which are related
to the research areas of the Collegium staff.
§2
The process of preparing the papers,
i.e. collecting, evaluating and developing works for publication is organised
by the Editorial Committee.
§3
The Editorial Committee consists of: the
Chairman of the Committee, Editor-in-Chief, the Secretary of the Editorial
Board and members of the Committee.
§4
The Chairman, Editor-in-Chief, the Secretary
of the Editorial Board and members of the Editorial Committee are appointed and
dismissed by the Board of the Collegium of Socio-Economics of Warsaw School of
Economics, at the request of the Dean of the Collegium.
§5
The Program Board acts at the Editorial
Committee, and the Program Board supervises the
implementation of the program profile of the Quarterly Journal and cooperates
with the Editorial Committee.
§6
The Chairman and members of the Program
Board are appointed and dismissed by the Board of the Collegium of
Socio-Economics of Warsaw School of Economics, upon request of the Collegium
Dean.
§7
The duties of the Program Board members include
reviewing of the works submitted for publication in the Quarterly Journal “KES
Studies and Works” (Kwartalnik KES “Studia i Prace”),
inspiring students of MA studies, doctoral programs and scientific staff of the
Collegium of Socio-Economics of Warsaw School of Economics, as well as other
scientific and research centres, to prepare articles and other materials which
may be used in the Quarterly Journal.
§8
The duty of the Program Board is to carry
out substantive supervision of the published works, prepare the reviews of the papers which are included in the
publishing plan, decide on the substantive
form and the directions for the development of the Quarterly Journal, present
the proposals of financing of the activities of the journal and creating its
graphic design, as well as to present,
upon the request of the Chairman of the Board, the opinion with regard to other
issues related to the Quarterly Journal.
§9
The works submitted for publication
should be original, i.e. they should not be published in any other periodical
or scientific publication. Moreover, they cannot be, earlier or at the
same time, submitted to the editorial offices of other scientific journals
published in the Polish language. The author of the work is obliged to sign an
appropriate statement concerning the originality of the work.
§10
The necessary condition for the
publication of the submitted paper is to grant the Collegium of Socio-Economics
of Warsaw School of Economics and Oficyna Wydawnicza SGH the right to use the submitted text in a paper version in the Quarterly
Journal “KES Studies and Works” (Kwartalnik KES „Studia i Prace”) and to disseminate it for scientific
purposes as well as to use it, in part
or in whole, to be published it in an
electronic form on the website of the Quarterly Journal “KES Studies and Works”
(Kwartalnik KES ”Studia i Prace”). The
author of the paper is obliged to sign an appropriate agreement concerning the
transfer of copyright.
§11
The work should be submitted in an
electronic form of DOC format, via e-mail to the email address studiaiprace (at sgh.waw.pl) and
transmitted on an electronic medium (CD), as well as in two printed copies to
the address of the Editorial Board:

§12
The method of editing of the submitted
work should correspond to the standards set out by Oficyna Wydawnicza SGH which
are made available to the public on the website in the section entitled:
Information for the authors.
§13
The papers which do not comply with the conditions
of the publication specified in these regulations will not be submitted for
review and print. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to: edit the
submitted manuscript, apply abbreviations, implement amendments and corrections
or reject it. Each work published in the Quarterly Journal “KES Studies and
Works” is submitted for review prior to its
publication.
§14
The regulations of the Quarterly Journal
of the Collegium of Socio-Economics “KES Studies and Works” enter into life on the day of its adoption by
the Board of the Collegium of Socio-Economics of Warsaw School of Economics
We would like to
invite all potential authors to submit current reviews of the publications on
social sciences and humanities which
have been published this year, and in justified cases within the last two
years.
