 Dariusz Mikołajczak


M. Sc. – Graduate from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
In 2000, he joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland located in Wałbrzych where he held the position of Production Manager for manual transmissions. He was hired as no. 2 employee and was responsible for launching the production from scratch - “green field” operation according to Toyota production system (TPS).
In 2004, he was promoted to Assistant General Manager and was responsible for another “green field” project - B-ZERO. He launched the production of Foundry, Forge and Engines (processing and assembly).
In 2008, he was promoted to General Manager and was responsible for Engineering, Quality and Maintenance Departments.
In 2010, he was appointed the Vice-President of Manufacturing and, as a result, his responsibility extended to all departments associated with manufacturing.
From January 2012 to December 2013, he was seconded to Japan for 2 years. He held the position of Department General Manager and was responsible for the Production Engineering Department in the world’s largest engine manufacturing plant of Toyota - Kamigo. He implemented projects of new production lines in Japan, Australia, China, Indonesia and Brazil.
In January 2014, he returned to TMMP, where he took up the position of Vice President for Corporate Affairs. Up to the present day, he is responsible for Human Resources, Finances, Logistics and Production Planning Departments. Due to merger of Polish Toyota plants he held also the position of director at Jelcz-Laskowice plant in April 2017.
Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in the implementation of new projects according to TPS and lean manufacturing. He has been learning the philosophy of lean manufacturing in Japan - a country from where it originates. The work in Japan was also an excellent opportunity to learn “at the source” how Toyota Corporation runs and form a number of friendships and relations. He participated in many training courses, e.g. Executive Development Program in Toyota Institute and MBA in Wharton University of Pennsylvania Executive Education in USA.
Hobby: yacht sailing, jogging (participant in two marathons) and travelling into the unknown with a backpack.
Married with two children: a son and a daughter.
