„How to heal the finances of hospitals? Proposals for changes in the system of pricing of health services”
The Department of Managerial Accounting SGH under the guidance of prof. Gertruda Krystyna Świderska organized a conference on „How to heal the finances of hospitals? Proposals for changes in the system of pricing of health services”, which was held on May 14, 2014 in the Warsaw School of Economics.
The aim of the conference was to draw attention to the causes of poor financial situation of public hospitals in Poland. The following subjects were presented:
- What financial consequences for the hospitals result from the fact that budgets (contracts) are too small compared to the economic potential of hospitals (e.g. the problem of unused resources that generate losses).
- What financial consequences for the hospitals result from the fact that costs of stand-by are not taken into account in pricing the services.
- What is the impact of inadequate pricing of services on the financial performance of hospitals.
