​As a result of the Department’s and its collaborators’ efforts, new courses from the field of project management were introduced to the didactic offer of Warsaw School of Economics. There were also created new specializations from that field. In the first-cycle studies (bachelor degree studies) of Management one of the major courses is Project Management. In the second-cycle studies (master degree studies) of Management, Project Management became one of specializations. It covers the following courses: Project management basis, Strategic project management, Project team management, Project organization and European Union project management. There is a possibility to choose an interdisciplinary specialization of project management for all students from Warsaw School of Economics. The specialization contains five obligatory courses and ten courses possible to choose from the didactic offer of the School. These have to be closely connected to the subject of project management. Up to now, several hundreds of BA and MA thesis from the field of project management have been written and defended under the supervision of the Department staff members.
Individuals that want to develop their qualifications from project management can choose freely from the number of original courses offered by the Department: Preparation of projects financed from the EU funds, Budget planning and project controlling, Planning the project implementation process, Project management methodologies, Project Management Office. The Department also offers supervision of the MA thesis writing process by giving a possibility to attend a MA seminar when the thesis subject is linked to project management or related sciences. After finishing a specialization one receives the qualifications of project manager. Since 2014 the Warsaw School of Economics has been one of the few universities in Poland qualified to IPMA-Student partnership programme, which offers students the possibility to obtain a certificate confirming their knowledge from the field of project management, issued by an international professional organization IPMA.
Project Management Postgraduate Studies have been created in 2002 for graduates of higher education institutions that want to specialize in the problems of project management. The Department staff members give lectures from the subject of project management also on doctoral studies and postgraduate studies organized by other departments and collegiums of Warsaw School of Economics. Additionally, the Department offers specialist courses from the field of project management, e.g. PRINCE2 methodology course.
